Jay A. Werschky, DDS
About
Genesee County Dentist
After fifty (yes 50!) years, Dr. Jay has decided it is time to retire from the dental profession. It was a difficult decision not to renew his dental license since dentistry has been the heart and soul of his life since enrolling in dental school in 1972.
Dr. Jay has truly loved every day in his office and he is proud and delighted to turn the practice over to his daughters, Dr. Jori Lewis and Jill Phillips as well as a homegrown associate dentist Dr. Kayla Slatton, and a wonderful dental team. He has no hesitations turning over the reins to such a caring, qualified and professional staff.
While he may still be called upon for a consultation now and then, his new life will feature cooking, reading, golfing, travel and working with his Certified Therapy Dog, Liesl. He and Liesl create smiles at Hurley Hospital as well as various schools, retirement and assisted living facilities and invited visits to other venues throughout Genesee County.
Dr. Werschky still resides in Grand Blanc with his wife, Jan. They have been married since 1971 and have two daughters Jill and Jori (mentioned earlier). He is also the proud Papa of four wonderful grandkids: Avery, Grant, Emmett and Duncan. Nothing pleases him more than seeing his granddaughter, Avery, enrolled at the University of Wisconsin on a pre-dental curriculum. Hopefully, the dental family tradition lives on!
It was Dr. Werschky’s pleasure to provide dental care to one time patients as well as those who stayed a lifetime and trusted him with their dental health. He will miss this chapter of his life dearly, but he is ready to hang up the handpiece. Dr. Jori and Jill will strive to make their Dad proud and carry on his legacy, providing top-quality dental care to individuals and families throughout Genesee County.
